Sometimes it seems as if gaining accreditations and memberships is all about collecting logos. That’s not the way we approach them. It’s not that we’re not proud to display them, of course: simply that for us, gaining membership of professional associations or accreditation to internationally-recognised standards is a mark of our approach to doing business. We seek the best for ourselves and for our clients – and the best way of demonstrating that achievement is to have it independently recognised. That means you don’t only have to take our word for it! Here is a list of our current accreditations and memberships, with short explanations of why they are important to us.
We have been accredited by the BSI to ISO 9001, the world’s most widely recognised quality management standard, which outlines ways to achieve, as well as benchmark, consistent performance and service. We have also been accredited to ISO 14001, an internationally accepted standard for an effective environmental management system, which helps us meet customer expectations as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Lastly, the BSI has awarded us its BS OHSAS 18001 accreditation and kitemark : the best practice framework for our occupational health and safety management system. The SAFEcontractor scheme is an independent review and audit of members’ health and safety policies, procedures and documentation. Accreditation enables us to demonstrate our health and safety compliance to clients and potential clients. Click on highlighted link to view certificate.
The Contractors’ Health and Safety Assessment Scheme is a further independent, annual assessment of our health and safety arrangements. Suppliers who prove compliance with health and safety law are approved to work for all of CHAS’ buyers, including more than 500 public and private sector buyer organisations. We are also registered with Constructionline, a Government-run scheme that helps suppliers to apply for work with both public and private sector organisations: assessing each supplier to a common, transparent standard, so that buyers can obtain standard pre-qualification data. The BAFE Certificate scheme inspects the quality and safety of work carried out by businesses engaged in the design / installation / inspection / test / certification / maintenance of emergency lighting systems. Our membership of the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA), obliges us to undergo regular inspections and assessments to ensure that we comply with all electrical safety regulations and that all work undertaken is to the highest standards. Click on highlighted link to view certificate.
As with the ECA, our membership of the NICEIC, (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractors) confirms that we have undergone annual inspections to ensure we have maintained our technical competence and continue to meet NICEIC standards.

As a proud provider of apprenticeships and training, we work with JTL to offer government-supported apprenticeships for young people who wish to train in the electrical and engineering sector. The JTL was formed in 1990 by the Electrical Contractors’ Association and the Unite trades union to manage training in the electrical sector.
FIA (Fire Industry Association) has adopted a scheme for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire alarm systems to which Alpine Works adheres. Click on highlighted link to view certificate.
