Coworth-Flexlands School Chobham – New Teaching Block

Summary of works:

This project comprised the supply, installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical services of a new 3 storey classroom block replacing the existing single storey temporary accommodation. The building comprises ground, first floor and second floor classrooms with toilet facilities resource areas. Located on the ground floor is a kitchen and assembly/dining room.

The scope of the works included but was not limited to the modification and/or renewal of the following elements to provide a complete electrical and mechanical installation.

Modify/renew the existing electrical mains distribution switchgear, modifications to the small power and lighting and emergency lighting installations in the existing School House.

Within the new classroom block the works comprised of; new Lighting and Emergency Lighting installations, external Lighting including security lighting, small Power Installation, Power Supply to serve the new lift, low voltage installation to the new Science Room, ducts and wireways for incoming telephone services, mains distribution and computer wiring distribution, Security installation, Fire Alarm installation, TV Aerial sockets, Lightning Protection installation

New mechanical services installation comprises extending existing gas supply to serve the new boiler plant installation, kitchen and science room. From the new boiler plant heating installation extends to serve the existing school heating system and the new under floor heating system installed to the new classroom block. Mechanical extract ventilation to ground, first and second floor toilets, and staff room, IT room first floor and supply and extract to the kitchen on the ground floor.
