Brunel University – Refurbishment of Howell Engineering Building

Summary of works:

At Brunel University, Alpine Works acting as principal contractor was called upon to provide electrical and mechanical services; The works comprising of the installation of new Thorlux LED lighting throughout the whole building along with a new addressable self-test emergency lighting system complete with new head end computer and training. The works involved the full rewire and new containment of the lighting systems

Builder’s works, including forming of holes, removing/reinstating ceilings, making good and decoration formed part of the contract

In addition, we provided mechanical services; including new LPHW pumps, a new chiller for the AHU Lecture Theatre and computer room air conditioning.

The building was occupied at all times and stringent H&S procedures were implemented including liaison and fortnightly workshop meeting with building users,
